Student Name: Jessica Bradley Grade: Grade 11 Artist Statement: “Sunday Drive” depicts the typical Sunday car shows I go to with my brother. In this painting, the bright red Dodge Viper is the main focus of the event, portraying it near a turquoise van helped emphasize the Viper in the composition. Portraying it in a foreshortened perspective adds to the dramatics of this being a show stopping and admired car at the car shows.

Depths of the Night

Student Name: Madison Brophy Grade: Grade 12 Artist Statement: For this collection of works, I experimented with manipulating shutter speed in order to further enhance the color and light that can often be hidden through the night. I focused on using motion blur in order to create a dreamy and dissociative feel across the works. I displayed the works by creating a 3-D effect where the photos are floating layered over each other.

Daydreaming
Organization or School Affiliation: Somerset Berkley Regional High School
Student Name: Tayla Rogers Grade: Grade 12 Artist Statement: In this photo I wanted to communicate the mood of a daydream. I used a slower shutter speed to show movement in the background of the figure. I composed the photo to use positive and negative space and light and shadow and frame and showcase the student. Converting the image to black and white makes the shadows and contrast stand out even more, emphasizing the subject being lost in thought. Teacher: Ginny Troutman
Self- Talk
Organization or School Affiliation: Somerset Berkley Regional High School
Student Name: Benjamin Miller Grade: Grade 12 Artist Statement: My process for taking this photo was to use a shutter speed of 30 seconds and work in the dark. I had my camera set up on a tripod. After clicking the shutter, I would then quickly run to the seats. I sat in each seat with a light bar on my lap for 8-10 seconds. In the photo, I am having a conversation with myself. To me, taking photos is an outlet and a way to express feelings without words. Teacher: Ginny Troutman
